Writing tutor job [22 Feb 2007|12:57pm]

[ mood | sleepy ]

Are you a grad student at Rutgers GS-NB or one of the various professional schools in New Brunswick? Do you write decently? Are you interested in working as a writing tutor? Are you willing to work at least 6 hours per week at $10 per hour? If your answer to all these questions is "yes," then leave a message here or in my journal -- your friendly, neighbourhood RU student services bureaucrat may have a job for you.

Table for sale! [09 Sep 2006|11:48pm]

I am selling my kitchen table, which I’ve had since I moved into off-campus housing. The table is unvarnished solid pine, and is in excellent condition apart from a few tabletop stains. It measures 30”W x 48”L x 29”H. I suspect it would be quite pretty if you were to varnish or stain it properly. I’m asking $50 o.b.o. for it, and if you’d like it, you’ll need to arrange to pick it up. Please comment if interested.

coffee? [05 Apr 2006|10:15pm]

does anyone here know why all the baristas at west end seem to have quit?

also, god damn I am excited for the new coffee shop in highland park to open. I know it's a franchise and that's kind of lame, but pshaw, I need to study outside of my house and the nightly trek to new brunswick is getting to be a little much . . . .

This community... [17 Feb 2006|04:25am]

...is really dead.

Since there's all of 8 people here, maybe we should at least introduce ourselves or something...

But I'm too shy to go first.

howdy! [10 Jan 2006|10:18pm]

My name's Taylor, and I'm a probable-transplant from Florida to Rutgers PhD program in Sociology of Religion...I believe. It's difficult to decipher what exactly the PhD emphasis can be...

Anyway! Anyone enrolled in this program, or any Sociology graduate program? Would you recommend it?

Furthermore, would anyone recommend Rutgers?

Underwear Eve 2006! [29 Dec 2005|02:54am]

We're doing it again!!!

Last year's party was insane, and we're hoping we get enough people to top it this year. If you're looking for some stories to tell in 2006, make plans to come here. It's gonna be a rockin underwear eve!

The rules: everyone has to be in nightwear (undies, nighties, boxers, etc). We'll supply a limited amount of alcohol, but it's mainly BYOB. The idea is a relaxed good time and making friends with other skivvy-clad people. This ain't no frat party, so leave the melodrama at home. We're just looking for a chill night with good music, good people, and a good story to ring in the new year with.

Because this party has the potential to turn into a sausage fest, we request a higher girl to guy ratio for any group responding to us.

If interested, send us a message and we'll give you the further details.

See you there!

I have no idea what to do with a community, really, once it's started.

so here it is. you are grad students, I am a grad student. clearly, we have a ton in common. let's talk about grad student-y things and so on and so forth. post whatever the hell you feel like; be nice to one another.
